It's been way too long since the last time I posted. So in order to encourage others to post more, I don't mind to 以身作则 and post.
I know that yesterday's incident was an unhappy one and we cannot blame anybody but ourselves. I am not pointing to any particular person in the squad, but the whole squad. We all have a part to play in the squad. Without anyone of you, our squad wouldn't be the squad we have today. So I hope that for the incoming ROD dance, all of us should really play a part and learn the dance steps. Should you not learn the dance steps, we really have no choice. We can't force you. So it's your choice to choose whether you want ROD to be a successful one.
Do you think it is really fair to the other squad mates who have always put in effort in the dances and dance steps. And you say that the dance is stupid, song is stupid, speech is stupid. But have you really thought about the feelings of those who have done those things readily for you? Do you know how long we have we spent doing things readily for you? Have you appreciated them? We are your squad mates, not your servants or maids at your luxurious homes. Most importantly, we are a squad, not individuals. We don't mind you not taking part in the discussion of the dance steps. We don't mind making a fool of ourselves when we are trying out the dance steps to see whether the squad can do the dance steps. We have even accepted that most of you cannot come for practises and have to study for exams or your parents do not allow. We do not calculate on those small matters. After all, we are a squad. But how can you say that the dance is stupid, the song is stupid?
Everyone in the squad does not owe you anything. So, I'm here reminding you all, that please at least appreciate what we've done for the squad and you. So, can everyone try to attend the practises we've scheduled? Or at least ask a squadmate to teach you the dance steps. ROD is round the corner, in less than 2 weeks time. Do you think they will allow more than half the squad, 16 people to be down the stage watching the dance and doing nothing? They will surely ask you to go up. Wouldn't you then make a fool of yourself up the stage?
But not just the ROD, but also your whole RVNP life. We can't force you to change the attitude you have towards your RVNP life. It's really your choice. But if you are willing to have a positive view about RVNP life, I am sure, this four years as an cadet, it will be an amazing experience.
Your squadmates are really tired of nagging and nagging on you. Come on people, wake up. We can't always be there for you. What if one day in the life of another school or CCA, there is no one who really takes the initiative to get things done? Posting on the squad blog won't do any help to the current situation because people who read the squad blog are those who always take the initiative to care about the squad. Some people can play computer games everyday the immediate moment when they reach home, but they say they do not have time to check the squad blog or they say it's just to troublesome, or even, they say they do not even know the blog url. I really don't know what to say to you but, this is just the most your squadmates can do and say to you. Whether you want to listen, it's up to you, and we have got no rights to interfere in how you want to treat your own RVNP life. And even if we force you to, you will just hate NP even more and sooner or later, the whole squad will be separated into two. The whole sec one squad will be turned upside down.
Your RVNP life, please treasure it. Or else, when you when you want think back about it, your will not be happy about it but just regretful, remorseful and guilty about it.
May (:
